  1. They don't tell you this, but I've come to believe things like vacations, holidays and birthdays are only fun for children. Adults, not so much.

    1. Any PARENT will tell you that. But just like the Hokey Pokey, which IS what it's all about, you have to go through the motions even though you already know how it will end, for the KIDS.
At least we figured out how to take family vacation with my sisters to cut down on cost, so only WE are crying, not our wallets as much as if we went to say Disney. That will happen at some point in the future, but for now we'll go the route MY parents chose: My sister's lake house, log cabin in Wisconsin Dells, etc.

  2. I swear, we just brought half the beach home with us in our suitcases, on top of the moldering swimwear and sweaty sandals! Let's not forget the snack we missed when unpacking the car, so the funk of nasty food is lingering even after Captain vacuumed the entire thing out. *sigh* The joys.

Thanks for linking up to the Glitter Fart hop!

Just SUMMER ones off the top of my head:

      -- Sweaty Kids CLOTHING
      -- Overripe Forgotten Fruit
-- Too Much Lighter Fluid on the Barbie

      etc etc

but I ran out of time, and really how many can you take? :)

    1. We drove 3 hours to my sister's lake house, the baby alternated between screaming and crying almost the whole way there and most of the way back. Yep, I can barely make it to the library without booze.

  6. Snort, snort. I can't wait. We head for the beach soon. Wait, what? I live at the beach. Different beach. NEW SMELLS. I'm hoping for caramel vodka scented EVERYTHING.

    1. You may want to keep a flask full of that handy! If you can't drink it you can at least smell it!

  7. After this last vacation we decided to do things different next year. Next year Mike will take two weeks off, back to back. The first week will be for the big family goes to the beach (or etc) vacation. The second week will be kick the kids out of the house mommy and daddy are going to booze up and not move for 6 straight days vacation.

    I think that'll work.
